We are about to enter the winter holidays with all there bustle, drama, and time demands. It is easy to forget the reason that we celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year. Simply put to share the love of family and friends. So many things trigger memories of special times with families. It might be the smell of homemade pies, or the scent of wood smoke as one enjoys all the Christmas lights or maybe the sound of carolers. No matter what triggers the memories I am instantly swept up in nostalgic memories.
Happily most of the people are still with me on this plane. For those who have made their transitions they live on in my heart. I smile when I think of my mother and the Christmas feast she made for us all. My grandmother reading to us as we all snuggled down deep in our covers. In their own ways they’ve made me who I am today and I’m grateful for their love. Their many loving traditions I’ve tried to pass on to my own daughter and when she has children I hope she will share them with her children.
I wish you all Happy Holidays and much love in the New Year.
